In addition to the core curriculum offered in the ISAP training seminar, trainees have access to a wide range of ongoing research and training activities at ISAP. These include:
- The opportunity to enroll in classes in UCLA general campus departments and professional schools as needed for career development, including: [the courses below are the core courses in our training program and not in the broader UCLA curriculum)]
- Monthly ISAP Scientific Research Presentations, in which ISAP faculty and visitors present findings from their current research projects
- Activities sponsored by the NIDA-P30 Center on Advancing Longitudinal Drug Abuse Research (CALDAR), including:
- CALDAR lecture series
- CALDAR Summer Institute on Longitudinal Research
- Statistical support and mentoring from CALDAR-affiliated researchers
- Annual workshop on human subjects issues in addiction research and working IRBs
- Annual grant-writing workshop at ISAP organized and conducted by senior ISAP faculty
