Name of Project: Drug Use and HIV Infected Female Adolescents’ Care Use

Scope of Project: Aims of the study are to explore the inter-relationships between substance use, mental health, peer and kin network substance use influences on engagement in care of HIV-infected adolescent females. Among 200 HIV+ adolescent females, we will determine how drug use and mental health directly and inter-actively affect engagement in care; and how drug use among members of HIV-infected adolescent females' social and kin networks affect adolescent females' engagement in care.
