Diane M. Herbeck, M.A.

Diane Herbeck is a project director with the UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP). At ISAP since 2003, she currently manages an eight-year follow up study of methamphetamine abuse, a longitudinal study of the impact of maternal HIV on adolescents and young adults, and a feasibility study of an intervention to improve parenting and self-care skills for HIV+ mothers with young children. She has contributed to previous ISAP studies of psychotherapy process in alcohol treatment, evaluation studies of Proposition 36, and several survey and focus group projects examining implementation of treatment system changes and use of evidence-based practices from the perspectives of substance abuse treatment providers and administrators. She has managed mental health research projects at the American Psychiatric Association Practice Research Network, including national studies of treatment adherence, nicotine dependence, and ethnic disparities in diagnosis and treatment for psychiatric patients. Prior to her research experience, she was a clinical program manager at a mental health treatment center.
